How to Create a Thread on Twitter Directly on the Web and Application

Gadgetren – Despite the tweet limit on Twitter has been increased from 140 to 280 characters, but users on average use threads if they want to upload even longer.

For those of you who don’t know, Thread is a chain tweets which is usually made to explain something long in sequence.

Usually Threads are used to tell a chronology, make tutorials, or make Tweet lectures for many people to listen to.

When you create a thread, the tweets that you create will appear in sequence in the order from the first tweet to the end which is connected by a line that appears on the Twitter timeline.

How to Create a Thread on Twitter

Via the Web

  • Access Twitter site from browser
  • Twitter account login
  • On page Home, make words on tweets

  • Press the button Add berikon + under the Tweet column
  • Next, make second tweet

  • If you want to add third tweet, then press the button again Add
  • You can continue to add tweets to the Thread as you wishTwitter-Thread-Web-3
  • After the tweet is deemed to have been created, press the button Tweet All

Later other Twitter users will see your thread on the timeline with the tweets appearing connected with a line from the first to the last.

Of course, Thread will be very interesting when you are explaining a long topic. Later every Twitter user can comment on every tweet from the Thread that has been made.

Via App

  • Open the Twitter app on your phone
  • Twitter account login
  • On page Home, Press the button Add Tweet berikon + inside blue circle
  • In the pop-up menu that appears, press the button Tweet berikon blue Bird
  • Write the words in the Tweet column
  • When you want to make Thread, Press the button Add berikon + under the Tweet column

  • Then, you need to make second tweet
  • When you want to add third tweet, then press the button Add berikon + under the Tweet column
  • Continue to add the next tweet as desired
  • After the tweet is deemed to have been created, press the button Tweet All

Actually the steps to create a Thread in the application are almost the same as doing it on the web. But the difference is only in the initial step because you have to select the Add menu first on the Home page.

Please note that when you share a Tweet from a Thread via DM (Direct Message), the recipient will see the words of the first Tweet and a Show this thread button if they want to see the tweet in its entirety.

If you retweet or quote a Tweet from that thread, it will display the Show this thread button so that other Twitter users can see the entire thread. That way the tweets are even more pleasing to the eye.
