Gadgetren – Meta’s WhatsApp messaging application is not only available for Android and iOS-based mobile devices but can also be used for computer devices via a web browser.
Through mobile devices, WhatsApp as usual can be obtained through the Google Play Store for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS. After installing it, you can directly enter the mobile operator number to be registered in your WhatsApp account.
Meanwhile, to use WhatsApp on a computer, you must log in with the WhatsApp barcode displayed on the screen via the website.whatsapp.com. You must capture the displayed barcode via your cellphone camera by selecting the Linked Device menu first on the three-dot icon located in the upper right corner of the WhatsApp application.
After scanning the barcode to link WhatsApp mobile to the computer, then you can only enter the same account number and use it freely as long as it is not removed.
However, using WhatsApp on a computer device that is not our own can be dangerous because the WhatsApp account if you don’t remove it allows other people to do pranks such as hijacking or peeking at the contents of the conversations in it.
Therefore, you need to remove your WhatsApp number account on a computer device after you finish using WhatsApp to communicate as a form of maintaining privacy and security. However, there are still some of you who don’t know how to exit WhatsApp Web.
So that your account is not hijacked by others, then you must know how to exit WhatsApp Web on a computer by following the steps below.
How to Log Out of WhatsApp Web
- Sign in to WhatsApp via web.whatsapp.com on the previously used device.
- Tap the button three dots icon which is located in the upper right corner.
- Find and tap the menu Get out.
- The system will ask you if you really want to leave.
- If you are sure, tap the button Get out.
- WhatsApp Web from the linked device exits successfully.
- WhatsApp Web again shows a barcode as a sign that no account is linked.
In addition to going directly to the web.whatsapp.com page manually, you can also exit the service directly from the WhatsApp application if you forget which device you used to access it.
You can simply visit the Linked Device menu which can be found by tapping the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the WhatsApp application. Next select the desired device and press Log Out to stop the link.
