The fame that Garcinia cambogia obtained in Western countries, is due to the properties and its great effects on the metabolism of fats that make life in the body, and its ability to generate satiety.

70% of women use medicinal plants to lose weight
A study by the Center for Research on Phytotherapy (Infito) has revealed that up to 70 percent of women who diet in the pharmacy resort to pharmaceutical preparations of medicinal plants to try to lose a few kilos.
The work, carried out with dietitians, included the participation of 3,200 women who went to a pharmacy seeking help to lose weight, of whom 43 percent were overweight and 34 percent obese. And three out of four participants had already made a diet before going to the pharmacy.
Among the most consumed medicinal plants were the Green Tea and artichoke. The leaf of the first, as explained by Teresa Ortega, professor of Pharmacology at the Complutense University of Madrid and vice president of Infito, has effects such as an increase in energy expenditure and fat oxidation and a decrease in lipid absorption.
The artichokeFor its part, it has purifying properties and helps in the digestion of fats. Another important one is the fruit of ‘Garcinia cambogia’, which “can help reduce lipogenesis,” he adds.
The important thing, he stresses, is that they be purchased at pharmacies since they are obtained “with guarantees of quality, safety and efficacy” and, likewise, they also have the pharmacist’s advice for each specific case.
Spaniards gain an average of between three and four kilos during the summer stage, according to data from Infito. Also, the needs for weight loss increase with age, so that the highest peak of slightly overweight women, with recommended losses of between 3 and 5 kilos, occurs between 40 and 49 years.
These extra kilos “are usually gained during the summer holidays and can be lost in a healthy, gradual and sustained way thanks to the use of medicinal plants in combination with a balanced diet and physical exercise,” Ortega acknowledged.
Amazon, the largest online store in the world, is one of the portals where it is sold the most garcinia cambogia in order to reduce weight.
Other weight loss options
In fact, Dr. Pilar Riobó, a specialist in Endocrinology and Nutrition, recommends a diet moderately hypocaloric that includes five daily meals, regular and moderate physical exercise, and drinking plenty of fluids, especially water.
The ideal, he adds, is to “take advantage of the return to the routine” to make changes in habits that negatively influence the follow-up of a healthy and balanced diet, such as eating small plates, buying low-calorie foods or cook without fat.
“It is important, when planning a diet, to do it according to each patient, since each one has needs, preferences and rhythms of life that must be respected for the plan to work”, according to this expert, who recalls that the Strict diets are also “restrictive and effective while they are followed, but it has been shown that they cannot be carried out for a long time and that the stricter it is, the greater the risk of regaining lost weight.”
